TYPES OF FASTING

Intermittent fasting is more than just a weight-loss strategy.  if you are looing to do a fast, either short or long term, know what the differences are and WHAT IS THE PRIMARY REASON YOU ARE FASTING.


Understand the difference between BEING hungry, and FEELING hungry.  At around the same times each day, your body will release GREHLIN, a hormone that tells you it is time to eat.  This doesn't mean you NEED FOOD.  Ignore this feeling and it will go away within an hour usually.

IF you decide to do a longer fast (over 24 hours), let me know.  That are certain things to eat, and do before during and after to make it much easier and more successful, no matter the reason for your fast. You need to know what to supplement with BEFORE, DURING, AND AFTER THE FAST.

Fasting promotes mental clarity, improves immune function, increases muscle growth, and more.

However, not all fasts provide the same benefits.


Here’s a look at the five main stages of fasting, the specific benefits that come with each one:


Stage 1️⃣ (8-12 Hours): Your blood sugar stabilizes. Short-term fasting like this can also lower blood pressure and increase insulin sensitivity.  We ALL basically do this most nights, after dinner and before breakfast.


Stage 2️⃣ (12-18 Hours): You're getting into ketosis and burning fat. You'll also experience mental clarity thanks to a boost in brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF).  Ketone levels begin to spike, and insulin levels DROP.

Easy to do at first, simply skip ONE MEAL , usually breakfast!!

I do THIS fast about 3 or 4 days per week.


Stage 3️⃣ (24 Hours): Your cells start to cleanse and repair themselves which can combat signs of aging and inflammation.  Testosterone levels SPIKE.  Gut inflammation decreases.  Fat burning is still happening, and insulin levels have dropped.


Stage 4️⃣ (36-48 Hours): The human growth hormone ignites to stimulate muscle repair and recovery.  ZERO muscle loss or protein taken from muscles in this period.  AMAZING energy as you get deeper into the fast.  Some studies show a cannibalization of protein past this point, so make sure you know WHAT your fasting reasons are.


Stage 5️⃣ (72+ Hours): Your stem cell production is triggered along with immune system regeneration. A 72 hour fast will regenerate the entire immune systems cells, and is great for anyone with Autoimmune Disease or any metabolic disorder.
